IT’S NOT TOO LATE!
The Family Life Services 2020 Gala with Pam Tebow is Still Available.
The Livestreamed program on July 14th was a tremendous success. We appreciate the positive feedback about the testimony of a former client with her now 21-year-old son, the video of Pam Tebow with her son Tim Tebow, and her very inspirational talk. One supporter who has attended ten banquets said, “… gala last night was by far the best gala EVER!!!”
Make sure you don’t miss it!
THE ENTIRE PROGRAM IS AVAILABLE ONLINE THROUGH MIDNIGHT JULY 29th!
For those who participated: You are welcome and encouraged to watch again with friends or family using the link and password emailed to you. Host a group of friends and family or people from church in your home or in a meeting room at church.
THANK YOU AGAIN FOR SUPPORTING OUR CELEBRATION OF LIFE AND 35 YEARS OF

What has been happening at Family Life Services and how YOU can help
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have continued serving those who think they might be pregnant, are pregnant, or are parenting young children. By God’s grace, through the generosity of our previous donors, we have responded to over 300 requests for help.
Though much of the world has “sheltered in place,” the essential care we provide cannot wait.
The communities we serve are among those most severely impacted by COVID-19 in Michigan. Precautions are in place to protect the health and safety of our clients and staff, while doing everything we can to provide desperately needed services, supplies, and information.
- Using telehealth, our compassionate RN and Client Services team are providing accurate information and arranging for free medical pregnancy tests and ultrasounds. We have incorporated secure video conferencing into our ministry. Our Scripture-based Share Group for clients has become a weekly conference call.
- In the past 8 weeks, we have given over 14,000 free diapers plus wipes & formula to families in challenging situations. We have provided many free layettes to new mothers. The two mini layettes pictured together provided essential items to bring twin girls home from the hospital. The large layette is a “baby shower in a gift bag,” helping provide for baby’s first 3 months home. All this has been made possible by previous gifts from our generous donors.
- Our Easter letter reached over 5,000 souls, sharing our confidence in the risen Lord and his resurrection message: “do not be afraid.” We shared links to over 45 Christian ministries that have supported Family Life Services, inviting those we serve to pray with our church partners online.
- For nearly 2 months, every day at 2pm, FLS staff and volunteers join together on a conference call to pray for all connected to our ministry and all impacted by this pandemic.
God’s love and provision have been evident every day.
And yet, as needs have significantly increased, donations to Family Life Services have significantly decreased. During this pandemic our online giving has dropped by 65%. In April alone, financial donations to our ministry dropped by over $10,000. This is challenging for our donation and volunteer based charity.
There are three ways you can support our ministry during these challenging times.
- Please pray for us. Contact PrayerTeam@flscenter.com for specific prayer requests.
- Provide essential supplies for our clients and ministry. We are low on baby wipes and diapers size 4, 5 & 6; see our amazon shopping list for additional items.
- You can donate securely online, or call the FLS office at 734-434-3088.
Every prayer, action and donation makes a difference. Your generosity will have an immediate impact.
Thank you for considering this request. God bless you.
Yours for life,
Teresa Kasperick-Postellon, Ph.D.
Executive Director, Family Life Services of Washtenaw County
To help keep our community healthy, the Family Life Services lobby is closed and most of our team are working remotely. We are following best practices recommended by the CDC.
We are still serving those who think they might be pregnant, are pregnant, or are parenting young children.
Although this pandemic can be dire and frightening, let us remember that our God, who is love, does not permit any evil except that He can bring a greater good from it. I have been reflecting on John 9:2, concerning a blind person. Jesus’s disciples ask him “Rabbi, who sinned — this man or his parents — that he was born blind?” Jesus replied that neither was the case, but that he was born blind “so that the works of God might be made visible through him.”
Sisters and brothers in Christ, we are living here and now so that the works of God might be made visible through us. In John 8:12, Jesus says, “I am the light of the world; whoever follows me will have the light of life.” Let us follow Jesus in confidence and without fear.
At Family Life Services we are committed to supporting women in their choice for life and for the critical years that follow. We are keeping their unique challenges and the limitations of our volunteer-based staff in mind as we support clients during this difficult time.
Please continue to lift our Christian pro-life ministry — clients, volunteers, donors, and staff — up in prayer. You are in my daily prayers.
If you are shopping online during this pandemic, please consider choosing Family Life Services of Washtenaw County as your Amazon Smile Charity.
During this pandemic we are only accepting the following donations:
- Diapers, size 4, 5 & 6;
- New baby thermometers
- Baby wipes
- Gift cards
- Sanitary gloves
- Respiratory masks
- Hand sanitizer
God bless you.
Yours for life,

The Family Life Service property, former “Planned Parenthood” location, has been blessed by God and now houses our safe and open space reflective of God’s love. We are grateful to the many Knights of Columbus councils and Ann Arbor Christian Reformed Church who donated funds to pay for a new sign. We are also grateful to Johnson Signs of Jackson who created it and their employees Jeff and Neil who installed it last Friday, charging us only for their fabrication costs.

FLS Scripture verse of the year: “The desert will burst into bloom; it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy.” Isaiah 35:2
Tomorrow is the final day for you to RSVP for our 2019 Gala Celebrating Life! Go to our event registration page or call the FLS office to save your seat today. The venue needs our final count for dinner and we want to make sure there’s enough food for YOU!
Travon P Clifton is our guest speaker this year. She came to visit our pregnancy clinic yesterday and spent time meeting staff and volunteers, touring the clinic and becoming familiar with what we do, and praying and talking with the ladies in our Share Group. We are now even more excited and can’t wait for our chance to hear her full story.
You don’t want to miss this fabulous evening. Make your reservations today.
Today many Christians begin a time of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving in preparation for Easter. The attached .mp3 is a setting of the beginning of Psalm 1. This gift to the Family Life Services prayer team and community was created with the generous support of the music ministry of St. Joseph Parish in Dexter, Michigan, and the monks of St. Meinrad Archabbey in Indiana. May it support your prayer and encourage your walk with the Lord. As you “ponder the law of the Lord day and night,” may you “yield fruit in due season.”
The staff and volunteers at Family Life Services of Washtenaw County wish you and yours a joyous and hope-filled New Year.
Merry Christmas! May this week’s celebration of our Savior’s birth be a time of peace and joy for you and your loved ones.
This mp3 of O Come, All Ye Faithful (Adeste Fideles in Latin) is a gift from Family Life Services of Washtenaw County and our friends at Ave Maria Radio. For nearly 3 centuries Christians have sung this song rejoicing in Christ’s birth into our world and our hearts. This version is shared with you through the generosity of Sandra McDevitt, Mike Jones and Annelie Cherney.
This is my final “thank you” as a staff member at Family Life Services. I have transitioned out of my responsibilities and Teresa Kasperick-Postellon is our new Executive Director. In 2019 my family hopes to adopt a second child. I will continue to support FLS’s life-saving ministry as a donor and prayer team member, and I plan to host a table at the 2019 FLS Gala in March. I hope to see you there.
I greatly appreciate the faith and generosity I have witnessed from you during my 5 years at FLS. I am inspired by your support for abortion-vulnerable women and for women who are parenting in difficult circumstances. Your commitment to this ministry enables our FLS team to share the love of Christ with those we serve.
Thank you for the lives you have helped save and the families you have helped strengthen through Family Life Services. May God bless you this Christmas and always.
~ Karalee Robison, Volunteer and Table Host for the 2019 Family Life Services Gala
